Leo season was every bit as playful, self-indulgent and fabulous as we expected it to be, but it’s time for a change in gear as the Sun sets up camp in detailed-oriented, hard-working Virgo for four weeks. In life, there needs to have a balance between work and play – and the arrival of Virgo season lets us know that play time is officially over. I know I haven’t set this up to sound like the most exciting energy to work with – but this month could be your most successful yet. Read on for this season’s guidance!

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac, represented by the Maiden. As the Sun passes through Virgo, it shines a light on our health, fitness, day-to-day routines and habits, day jobs and more. These things are all associated with the sixth house in our chart, the house that Virgo rules.
The sixth house is a very important part of our charts because these are the things that affect our quality of life. Right now, the Sun is touching the areas of our life that determine how we look, how we feel, and how happy and fulfilled we are on a day-to-day basis. With this extra light and warmth from the Sun, when we put our energy and focus into these things, we can transform them.
How to use Virgo energy
Put your all into becoming a better version of you during Virgo season. This is the sign of self-improvement, so the Sun supports this. There is no better time of year to start a journaling routine or invest in some therapy. Also – what have you been putting off? What good habits have you let slip? With the Sun sailing through the sign of routines, now’s the time to get back on track.
Anything that takes focus, discipline and dedication is favoured this month. It’s a great time to revisit that big project that’s been on hold or to finally get a great idea down on paper. The Sun in Virgo ensures that you’ll have the attention-to-detail needed to create something brilliant.
Also – Virgo loves lists. As a Virgo, I am constantly making lists about anything and everything. It’s quite ridiculous actually, I can’t even start something until I’ve made a list first. But lists are a great way to get organised and know where to direct your focus. So, make a lot of lists this month. Gratitude lists, to-do lists. Even better – make a list of your goals and dreams and challenge yourself to take one step towards achieving each one.
Focus on health
As the sun shines on the sign of health and wellbeing, you might find yourself thinking about how you can treat your body better or maybe even craving healthier foods.
Typically, January is the month that people sign up for gyms and start diets, hoping to get in shape for the new year ahead. But I’ll let you in on a little secret – if you really want a diet and fitness overhaul, there’s no better time to start than during Virgo season, when the Sun is lighting up your path and sending you the energy to give it your all. Whatever good habits you form now are likely to stick.
Things to watch out for during Virgo season
What do Virgo and Gemini have in common? Absolutely nothing at first glance, but when you look a little deeper, you’ll find that they are both ruled by Mercury – the planet of communication and the mind. Like Gemini, Virgo thinks a lot and is prone to over-analysing, over-thinking, over-worrying and anxiety. People of all signs might experience a rise in mental energy just like you did in Gemini season, so try to stay grounded and calm those thoughts by getting a solid meditation practice in place this month.
